We, the members and volunteers of SUN, are united in our beliefs that we are all of mind, body and spirit, and that all three need nurturing and nourishment on a regular basis.
Shambhala United Network Inc. (SUN) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Northern Rivers, NSW, and a registered charity with the Australian Charity and Not for Profit Commission (ACNC).
We are committed to supporting those living with mental dis-eases by introducing various therapies and practiced techniques. These techniques, when practiced regularly, will assist with the increase of positive thought patterns, relaxation of the mind and the finding of an inner peace, in order to help you manage your dis-ease holistically.
We also believe that this, in turn, may help reduce the need for further hospital admittances, possibly medication, and to help reduce the level of substance addiction that is usually an escape from negative thought patterns for those living with their dis-ease.
SUN’s services are in no way a substitute for medical or psychological treatment from licensed and registered healthcare professionals. We are a support network designed to help you make those appointments.
We also understand that this is not for everyone…that there are people suffering on a daily basis from mental dis-eases, due to physical injury or excessive drug use for example, who may not be able to adapt these techniques into their everyday lives for long-term benefits.
But even they could not deny the magical effects on the mind after a luxurious massage, or the calming effect on the body after a reiki session……
To help reduce the instances of mental dis-ease and suffering in your life.
To help you have a more relaxed mind and spirit, that will help you get out of bed in the morning, perform the daily tasks you need to do in order to provide for your self, your family, your work colleagues, etc., and then to have a restful night’s sleep.
For you to practice these skills and techniques on a regular basis, to help reduce the instances of mental dis-ease, and therefore provide benefits long-term. By using these skills on a regular basis, you will find yourself more in control of your thoughts, and therefore less need to escape them. This in turn may help reduce the need to turn to medication, either prescribed or self-prescribed.
If we can all bring harmony into our own lives, then this will have a ripple effect and help bring harmony into the lives of those around us.
