Shambhala’s services are not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment from licensed and registered healthcare professionals, nor a substitute for your religious beliefs….we are a support network designed to help you make those appointments and to empower your faith!
Your program is tailored to suit you specifically, taking into account your past circumstances, your present situation and your beliefs.
The Coordinator will then set up the initial appointments with the volunteers. After your first appointment with a particular volunteer, they will then arrange directly with you all your future appointments. Each of the volunteers’ services will differ in quantity, depending on how much they have to offer and how well you are progressing.
The venue of the appointment will vary…some volunteers will require you to meet them at their place of business, some may wish to meet you at your home, while others may wish to meet with you in a public place such as a cafe or a beautiful spot surrounded in nature.
The amount of time you have available will determine how many appointments you can have in one week, experiencing the different modalities/therapies. Therefore, everyone's program will be different, although we would expect most clients to have completed their program within three months.
Depending on your individual circumstances, our Coordinator can also arrange for other services, for example, integration back to work or study, accommodation, etc., from other community organisations.
Our Coordinator will be in contact with you regularly over the course of your treatment, to monitor your progression and to obtain your feedback.
Your program is also open to your immediate family....those that are feeling the impact of your dis-ease and would like to learn ways to help lessen the burden, both for themselves and for you.
